Abstract

Research and learning in hotel management increasingly rely on open datasets and code, but their quality and reusability are rarely studied. This PRISMA 2020-guided scoping review maps open artifacts for hotel management through the GitHub REST API (90 records out of 33,907 hits) and web searches. Ten artifacts were selected using maximum variation sampling, then assessed with a reusability readiness rubric (0–10). Transaction datasets scored the highest, while code repositories scored the lowest, and 76.7% of repositories were unlicensed. No artifacts covered housekeeping or public area services, nor Indonesian hotel data. This article proposes a four-layer open hotel intelligence framework and a data-based public area learning cycle for 11th-grade Hospitality students at SMKN 1 Pagerwojo, Tulungagung
